are large and abundant in this area. The entire summer produces great fishing at Nootka, usually with a nice run of Coho starting in mid-late August. It is not uncommon for guests to catch their limit of salmon during their stay. We even saw a 68lbs chinook caught in the sound a few years ago, and usually a few in the 50's each year. The coho reach world record sizes, not uncommon to see them in the low to mid 20 pound range.
